The seal is the signature of the artist. In addition of being a signature, it complements the composition of the painting. It should enhance and emphasize the expression of the picture.
The seal is made of stone, and the signature is carved as a symbol or as a name. The artist uses a paste (usually of red color) to imprint the seal on the complete paintings.
